About the Program
Background
Water — Learn it! Live it! (Water-LiLi) is a joint initiative of City West Water, South East Water and Yarra Valley Water. It consists of a suite of educational resources for teachers of Prep to Year 10, including:
- curriculum resources
- an accreditation program for schools to acknowledge their achievements
- teacher professional development sessions
Curriculum Resource
Water-LiLi has produced a comprehensive curriculum resource for teachers of students in Prep to Year 10. It includes activities on the water cycle, properties of water, water conservation and more. With over 300 pages of information and activities, the resource can be downloaded here or you can obtain a hard copy by joining the Water-LiLi accreditation program.
Water-LiLi Accreditation Program
The Water-LiLi accreditation program provides schools with the opportunity to be recognised for their commitment to water conservation. After commiting to the program, schools work through five simple milestones to achieve accreditation in either the Bronze, Silver or Gold category.
Once your school commits to the program, your local Education Officer will document each milestone as you achieve it. Schools generally start their journey at Bronze and then progress through to Silver and Gold, although schools are welcome to remain on Bronze or Silver if they choose.
Upon accreditation, schools receive a sign for the front of their school as well as a framed Certificate of Accreditation. Click here to join today!
Teacher Professional Learning Sessions
Keep up to date with current water issues, water education initiatives and network with other educators. Water-LiLi runs free professional learning sessions throughout the year for teachers in Metropolitan Melbourne. Please contact your local Education Officer for more details.
