Eltham North Primary School (ENPS) has become the first school in the YVW service area to gain gold accreditation in the Water - Learn it! Live it! program.

Eltham North Primary School (ENPS) has become the first school in the YVW service area to gain gold accreditation in the Water - Learn it! Live it! program. The school's sustainability coordinator, Jo Harwood, has played a key role in implementing water conservation education and practices across the whole school. ENPS has used programs such as Water - LiLi, SWEP and AuSSI Vic to learn about and implement water saving mechanisms which have already drastically reduced their water consumption. The school also uses a smart meter, SETS monitoring and conducts audits to identify any problems. Water related issues are communicated across the school through whole-school Water Day activities and the display of slogans, messages and signage around the school. The students are the real water saving advocates, with the formation of a years 2-6 environmental leaders group who spread the water conservation message through their Water Wizard Heroes. ENPS is an excellent example of how little people can make a BIG difference!
